The neck and shoulder reflexes.
If you haven’t had Reflexology before it may seem strange to think you can do so much to improve those pains we feel in the neck and shoulders.
I mean, how can the feet and ears help our neck and shoulders you may ask?
Reflexology can not only identify what side of the neck or what specific points on the shoulders that are out of balance but it can also trace those imbalances to their origin; ever realised that your neck pain may have actually started in your knee?
Even more interesting is, if you think back to when it started, what emotions were attached to those pains? What was going on when those issues started?
So, Reflexology is an opportunity to reflect on what perhaps needs to shift in one’s day to day life. That tension in your jaw from gritting your teeth that has led to headaches, neck pain and permanent shoulder pain can be traced back to those stressors in your life.
The actual treatment uses techniques that massage the spine, the neck and shoulders – in fact there is one spinal technique that is a bit like someone massaging round each vertebrae gently and smoothing out any tension.
I generally give you self-help tips as well that take no time at all to practice at home, perhaps 2 minutes here and there.
And if you happen to know me, you know I am also a Mental Welfare Coach and Hypnotherapist so it’s a perfect opportunity to reconnect mind and body and iron out all the kinks – but leave a few coz we all need some kinkiness right?
